This Russian Orthodox triptych altar is hand painted with the most amazing detail.  Crafted in balsa wood with lacquer painted over papier mache, this sacred altar displays two Archangels, Michael & Gabriel, on either side of the Madonna Child when opened.  The Russian Cross with onion dome atop the triptych represents goodness from Heaven.  Red Cyrillic hand painted script and golden painted scroll work accents throughout.

The triptych is mounted onto a stepped platform base decorated with an elaborate
hand painted gilt design. The black lacquer has a great depth of color and is satin
 finish smooth to the touch.
